Banquet of Soccoer team!

Boys varsity soccer team’s banquet was held last Sunday. We went to Kalbi House, a Korean BBQ restaurant in White Plains.

I went to North Rotunda at 2:30 pm. There were almost all players. It brought ma back to old memories, our soccer season that was over in last fall season.

It was my last soccer season. I felt like the season ended a long long long time ago and just recently also. It’s very strange feeling. Sometime I think I will do a manager of the team next year again. But I know it’s just my thought.

I didn’t go to Kalbi House for a long time, so I really looked forward to go there. I love Kalbi! We couldn’t use a school bus to go there because there was no supervisor (usually, supervisor is team’s coach, but we didn’t want our coach to come to our banquet, so we didn’t call him!) so we called some taxies. I rode on a taxi with a senior manager and two sophomore players.

When we arrived the restaurant, almost everyone was there already. We ordered lots of Kalbi (beef) and Chidimi (seafood scallion pancake)! I was so surprised how lot boy eat! There were almost boys so they ate well. And there was a Karaoke machine so some players sung songs. Some of them had no sense of direction so it was so funny to hear them! And some of them were good at singing and they had really nice performances! Players tried to make managers sing, but we didn’t sing. It was too embarrassing for me to sing a song in front of them!

The food was very nice, players made us laugh, and I could have a really nice time! After we almost finished, some of players ordered a Bibinba (flavored rice baked on a hot stone bowl). I was so surprised how much they ate! After everyone finished, we started speech. Each of us told each feeling about our soccer season. When the season was over, we didn’t have a meeting such a serious one. So it was a nice chance to know what each of us felt about our season and the season over. It was a so touching time for me.

We went back to Keio by taxies same as our way to. Four managers including me rode on a same taxi. The banquet was a really nice and it pasted so fast. I remember lots of things about the soccer season, and these memories will stay in my mind forever. This banquet will be a precious memory also. Sometimes we clash each other, but this team is still very important for me. We had been getting over lots of things, good things, and bad things too. I want to tell them both of my appreciation and apology.

Our season was already over and out banquet was finished also, but the senior bowl is still left! I really look forward that! I’m senior so I want senior team to win! It will be held in June. I can’t wait it!

LAST VALENTINE PARTY and MANHATTAN~★!

Last Saturday, there was a valentine party! It was a St. Valentine’s Day also!It was a last valentine party for 12th graders. I thought same thing when Christmas party. But this year, valentine party was held in school building. Usually, it’d been held in cafeteria. The morning of the day, I went to manhattan with my friend, Azusa. I wanted to go to my favorite café like usual. I left school at 7:30am! I was so sleepy but I looked forward to going to manhattan, so I didn’t mind! When we arrived the café, there were about 20 or 30 people who lined infront of the café. The café is very very famous and popular so it was usual that lots of people lined. But it was so cold, so I was so worried whether we had to wait much time, like 1 hour and 30 minutes or 2 hours. But we could have seats about 30 minutes later luckily! I ordered special pancake with strawberry and champagne cream. It was soooooooooo delicious! The café’s name was Clinton Street Baling Company. I always go there when I go to Manhattan! I love there! After we left the café, we went to Soho. We enjoyed shopping! Then, we decided to have a dinner even though it was about 3:00pm because there was valentine party from 7:00pm. We ate omrice (an omlet containing fried rice) and Katsudon (a bowl of rice with a pork cutlet, and egg on top). They were so good also!At grand central, we bought junior’s whole cheesecake for souvenir. We could go back to our school at about 5:30pm. Then we got ready for the party. Valentine party was so good! It was very different from annual valentine party. It is always silent and kind of romantic, but the last one was very cheerful! I thought it was good also. I could enjoy the party well! Thanks for committees! After the party, I made chocolates for boys varsity soccer club with other managers because Valentine! We planned to make ganaches. First, we melted chocolate and mixed with fresh cream. My room was filled up with sweet chocolate smell! Then, we put the liquid chocolate into vat. Next day, the chocolate hardened but it was still soft so it was very hard to make it small pieces. We made three flavors of chocolates. Cocoa powder, green tea, and kinako (soybean flour). When I tasted these, I thought these were not good. So I was so worried when we gave these chocolates to players. But everyone said “Delicious!” So I was really relieved! I was happy that players were glad.

I thought making chocolate was easy work because it can melt and harden easily. And every web pages (about chocolate recipes) said it was very easy to make ganaches and ganaches were good for beginners of making sweets. In fact, it was very hard! I thought I could cook something at least if I wasn’t a very nice chef but I lost my confidence this time. I will cook something when I go back to japan after graduation. And I wish I will be a good cook!

basket ball

Yesterday, boys varsity basket ball team had a season over. The opponent was Rye Neck and it was an away game. We had to win 1 more game to go to sectionals. And it was our last league game so we must win the game, or our season would over. But the opponent’s situation was same as us. We had played once before and we won the game by about 7 points, so I believed we could win. Yesterday morning, we made rice balls and Inari-sushi (= fried bean curd stuffed with sushi rice). I made them with my wishes to win the game. When the bus almost left Keio, I knew one manager couldn’t come with us because she had to go to hospital. I was disturbed because it was really important game. When our bus left Keio’s gate, girls who were members of girls varsity basket team saw us off with banner which said “Come back with smile”. I was moved by their heart. And soccer teams saw us also. I thought we had to win for them. When we arrived at Rye Neck, there was Kana, a captain of Keio’s girl varsity basket ball team that couldn’t go to sectionals. I was so moved again. Beginning of the game, it was a really close game. I cheer our players up for dear life. During the game, one manager who went to hospital arrived. I saw her and believed we would win. But we lost finally. It meant season over. I couldn’t understand what was happened. I thought we would go to sectionals and there were more games, practices and team dinners. Next to me, managers broke down into tears. I couldn’t do anything. I didn’t remember how I got on the bus. Only then did I realize that bus arrived at Keio. I had to hand a traveling form to the health center so I went to the south dorm. There were few students and they asked me whether we won. I replied no but I didn’t realize that we didn’t win still. When I went into the gym, team started meeting. It was a last meeting. Keisuke, our captain talked about what he felt and what he felt about teammates. Our season was over like this.

It was Dec 1st 2008 when this season had started. This season lasted about 2 months. At the beginning of the season, there were only 3 managers. Usually managers are 4 so it was tough and I felt alone. And 1 of the 3 managers couldn’t continue manager because she had backache and a doctor said she must stop. A manager joined but I was worried more. After winter vacation, another 12th manager came back to NY. I think the time that I spent in Basket ball team was very quick. Especially after winter vacation was so quick. It was very precious time for me, So, it went thorough very quickly because it was too enjoyable.

Now, spring season will starts soon. Each of us goes each way. But I believe that we are “team”. I wanna gather again and have a great time again.

BB★ AND my favorite movie!

In winter season, I’m in the boys varsity basket ball team as a manager. I’ve joined the club since last year. Usually, managers of the boys basket ball team in Keio NY starts their job when they are in 9th grade. So only students who entered at this school as a 9th grader can be this team’s manager. But last year, I became their manager. First, I was worried about that I was a new girl and whether the teammates involved me or not. Although I had never told with them, they involved me and did very well by me. I could be brought out soon. Last year, we went on to the finals of the sectionals game. Finally, we lost in the over time. I cried and cried. It was very very exciting season.

And now, this year’s winter season have started. The seniors who were in the team last year graduated so it’s lone… but I believe we can do like last year’s team! We are very friendly team so I can enjoy the club every day. especially team dinners are very fun! There are lots of comedians in our team! Today, we have a home game at 6 pm. We must win 2 more games to advance to the sectionals. Please come and cheer us up!

And today, I’m going to talk about what I love. First, I love eating. I think I can eat lot more than other girls. When I go to Manhattan, I always eat delicious foods. It’s my chief delight! I love cuisines but I love sweets also. Cheese cake, brownie, cookie, pancake, French toast, chocolate cake, cream puff, milleclape… I can’t mention all! When I’m in my house in japan, I usually cook by myself. I like cooking also. I think I’m not a wonderful cook, but I like cook and eat! In the dorm, we can’t cook so I’m really disappointed. I’m planning that I will go to a cooking class after I’ll graduate this school and go back to Japan!

Also I love friends. If I have no friends, I would leave this school already. We’re living in dorm so we are really close and tight. It sometimes causes troubles, but I love that my friends are always around me. In dorm, we can celebrate our friend’s birthday at 12:oo and we can meet with our friends anytime! I usually want to graduate this school and go back to Japan, but I think I might miss this school and the dorm after graduation.

PS♡

I love movies! In Japan, I usually go to movie theaters with my friends. But in here, I rarely go to theaters because it’s too hard for me to understand native English in movies. I know to try to listen might make my English better, but my bad attitude about English die hard. When I was younger, I like western movies than Japanese movies because western one is very large-scale and story is very fun. Bur recently I realized Japanese movies are grate also. In Japanese movie, character’s mind is expressed very delicately. Usually Japanese one isn’t large-scale and the setting is very usual world. And characters in it might close to us. I felt boring before, but I fell them close to me so I can sympathize and empathize with them.

My recent favorite Japanese movie is “Hito no sex wo warauna.” This title means don’t laugh at others romance. I read this movie’s original. I knew the book’s title and I thought what a title was it! So I was interested in the book. It was interesting, but it wasn’t a funny or exciting story. I think Mr. Kringle doesn’t like the story. Maybe lots of boys don’t also. But I love the movie! the story is about 19 years old boy who loved 39 years old woman. She was a teacher in art college that the boy was in. And, she had been married with another man already! After I watched the movie, I REALLY wanted to fall in love with someone, like the boy and the woman. I really love the movie, so I asked my parents to buy the DVD of the movie and send it to me. I will watch this movie again and again!

now, it is 5:30 so i gonna go to the basket ball game! i REALLY REALLY win!

PLEASE come to cheer us up!
